Gateway to adventure
Nestled in the Andean mountains, Quito, Ecuador, offers stunning views and rich culture at 9,350 feet. I explored vibrant streets, historic churches, and connected with locals, while soaking in the city's natural beauty.
Step into history
The Intinan Equator Museum
Standing at the Intinan Equator Museum with one foot in each hemisphere was surreal! I learned about the Shuar and Woarani tribes, balanced an egg at latitude zero, and explored the Tsachila people's death rituals. My three days in Quito were outstanding.
Galapagos awaits
A wildlife wonderland
Next, I flew to the Galapagos Islands. Baltra Island greeted me with Darwin Finches and Land Iguanas, while Blue-footed Boobies and Sally Lightfoot Crabs filled the landscape. Expert Naturalists shared the importance of protecting this unique ecosystem.
Unforgettable
Moments with nature
Each day brought new wildlife encounters, from snorkelling with sea turtles and reef sharks, to close encounters with Galapagos Penguins and Waved Albatross. The Flora offered delicious farm-to-table meals and stunning views from my infinite balcony.
